Jessica McManus, PSY.D.

Dr. McManus is a clinical psychologist who has been licensed in California since 2010. She specializes in the treatment of trauma and mood disorders with a particular emphasis on military and law enforcement trauma. She uses a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions to create lasting and profound changes in the lives of her clients.

Dr. McManus earned her master’s and doctorate degrees from Alliant International University in clinical psychology. She completed her internships and postdoctoral studies in forensic and private practice settings, conducting psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for forensic populations. Dr. McManus served as a PERT clinician with the County of San Diego where she was partnered with a speciality trained law enforcement officer, responding to psychiatric crises in the county.

Most recently, Dr. McManus was selected as the first civilian Navy psychologist to lead a team of multidisciplinary professionals embedded in Wounded Warrior Battalion-West. Over the course of 10 years, she developed a program that has become the model for delivering high quality holistically driven mental health care for wounded, ill, and injured active duty Marines and Sailors. Dr. McManus’s expertise lies beyond her professional experience, as she is also the spouse of a law enforcement officer and retired combat Marine. Her knowledge and respect for the specific issues that affect this population inform her clinical work on a daily basis.  She has received awards from Wounded Warrior Battalion and Regimental Commanding Officers and the Admiral of Navy Medicine West for her consistent delivery of high-quality care to those in need. She has also been interviewed by PBS for their special on the hidden wounds of military service.
